This is a somewhat complex topic because there are many different reasons for disciplining children, many different types of discipline, and also many different types of parents, who may be reasonable or unreasonable, and many different types of children who also may be reasonable or unreasonable. The first question that arises would be, is the discipline appropriate? Did you actually do something wrong, and is the discipline reasonable for that kind of offense? If so, you must accept your justly deserved punishment, and must strive not to commit that kind of offense again. The situation becomes more difficult if you are being disciplined inappropriately. You can try to explain things to your parents and to reach a better understanding, but that is not always possible if your parents are not reasonable people. Running away from home and joining the circus is not an option, the circus is not hiring. If the discipline is extreme, to the point of endangering your well being, you can complain to the police, or possibly to other relatives if you have sympathetic relatives who might wish to help you. I will also add that even when your parents make entirely unreasonable and inappropriate demands, it may be easier for you to comply than to get into a fight about it. Once you are an adult and have moved out of your parents' house, you can live your own life as you choose. If your parents have treated you badly, you may choose to stop associating with them.
A lot of the time yes
Because homeschooling is between the parents and the children, discipline is enforced by the parents. It is wrong to ask whether homeschooling teaches discipline, because that depends on the parents. Some parents prefer to have regimented school days, others prefer a more relaxed style of teaching and learning.
This may be an uncontrollable urge, but animals do respond well to discipline, such as withholding treats. Never physically abuse or neglect an animal as discipline.
