How do you reset heartgold Pokemon DS?

Well, if you mean reset as in ERASE your file (so you can start a new one), all you have to do is go to the title screen (the screen where Ho-oh is flying), and press up on the control pad, the B button, and Select all at the se time and it will ask if you would like to erase all game data.

You can choose New Game then save over your orignal file or if you hold B, Up and Select on the title screen you will be sent to the delete all saved file screen say YES to all questions to delete your game then you can restart the game.

But if you do restart make sure you do not have a Pokemon in the poke-walker and once you reset your game you cant use your poke walker

Hold Up on control pad, B and SELECT together at the begging screen (Ho-oh flying) and delete your save data. After that, load the game and you will be able to start a new game.

If you didn't delete your save data, you can still start a new game from the start menu but you will not be able to save.
