If you'd like to erase the contents of your hard drive there are a few options on doing so. One option is to format your primary hard drive which contains your operating system. By formatting your disk you are removing everything on your hard drive and it will not be recovered.
Another option is to insert your Windows installation disk or a recovery CD-ROM (such as WindowsPE). This will give you the option to reset your PC.

In Windows XP: Click the Start menu/turn of computer/Restart
In Windows 7/Vista: Click the start men icon. There's a little arrow beside the Shut down button. Click it to reveal the rest of the menu, and select Restart.
