If you are trying to make a Word 2007 document compatible with Word 97 or Word 2003 you can save it into those formats from the Save As function found under the Office icon at the top left of the Word2007 application window.

If you have saved it over the previous document, using the same name and location, then the previous version is gone and cannot be restored. So you can either find a completely separate copy of the original or open the document and try to make the changes to restore it to the way it was. If you are doing that, maybe first save the newest version with a different name, in case you want to have that one too.

Are you thinking of an "amendment"? That would be a change made to something, especially a law or legal document.
Only way is to get a new document or have the place who made the document so official add an attachment with the updated information. What is this document used for and why are you changing the Birth year is the real question here?
