Have you tried the reset button on the back?

Type your default IP into your URL hit enter type in your login and password. If you haven't already set those you will be prompted to enter a login and password-they are always generic like:-login/login, or login/password. Aquick Google search of your specific type of router will give you the best results.

You don't. RTFM (this will become self explanatory as you "read" "the" rest of the answer)!!!!!!! If you have the item new out of the box, the password will be, strangely enough, "password" a netgear default (see the individual "manual" just to double-check this, as sometimes they use variations). The admin user is usually "admin". If you have inherited something and not been given the password or have forgotten your password you can force a reset. Generally there is a reset pinhole that you stick a small nail or unwound paperclip into to reset, much the same as the pinhole on cd-rom drives so you can manually eject them. If there is no pinhole, again the manual for the specific item wuill tell you more, then a power cycle down and up in a specific time sequence may also reset the unit. Check the manual for further information.
