You are unable too, DVD+R = Write once. DVD+RW= up to 1000 times rewriting.
Hope that helps.
A DVD-R can only have data written to it once. The data cannot be erased or overwritten.Write-once DVD-R or CD-R can now be rewritten (only in Windows 7). Just format the disc into UDF file system; or, upon inserting a blank disc in the burner, Just choose LIKE A USB FLASH DRIVE among the 2 options, then format it.Full tutorial can be found athttp://mykenguerra.blogspot.com/2011/10/how-to-rewrite-on-dvd-r-and-cd-r.html
The DVDs that you can rewrite many times are a DVD-RW and a DVD+RW. You can also rewrite a DVD-RAM more than once.
Rewrite is a record function, a dvd player is just that, a player.
DVD-R is compatible with over 90 percent of computer systems while DVD+R work with around 80 percent. The both hold 4.7 GB in the write and rewrite formats. Other than that, they are about the same.
A DVD-R is a DVD that is writable only once, but a DVD-RW is one that you can write to multiple times, with each rewrite the size decreasing somewhat.
There are two kinds of DVD R there is DVD+R and DVD-R. My personal experience was buying a DVD recorder and bought the DVD+R media . The +R media would not work on my machine. Went back to the store and the sales associate explained that there were two kinds. -R and +R. Which recording media is more common and (s)he said -R. Obviously my recorder takes -RAnswerthere isn't one. if its DVD rw, its rewrite, and u can go back and re-edit dvds you burn. if its just DVD r its DVD write and it just means you can burn cds, but cant go back and change the contents of the CD later.
Besides DVD-R, there are other standards and formats available for burning DVDs. This includes DVD-RW, which allows you to burn, delete, or rewrite information on the disc. While DVD-R cannot be edited once finalized, DVD-RW discs can be used over and over for burning movies or even music.
There is no physical difference between a DVD+R (DVD plus R) and a DVD-R (DVD dash R), but there are technical differences between the two formats. However, almost all new DVD writers can record on both formats, so the differences are not an issue for most people. The DVD-R is approved by the standards group 'DVD Forum' while the DVD+R is supported by the 'DVD+RW Alliance'. The main functional differences between DVD-R and DVD+R are: 1) the DVD recorder's built-in defects management 2) the way the recorders format and rewrite DVDs 3) the price More specifically: DVD+R can instantly eject. It can partially record on television and partially on a PC. It has background formatting where you can be recording on the formatted part while it is still formatting the rest of the DVD. DVD+R has the ability to edit filenames, playlist, and movie and song titles. DVD-R has to be formatted before you can record on it. Formatting has to be completed before the DVD-R will eject.
CD-RW
you can try copy the contents of a recorded DVD-R to a DVD-RW
Yes, you need to insert a bland DVD disc, either DVD-r or DVD+r is ok, before you burn movie to DVD. Generally speaking, DVD-r is more compatible than DVD+r.
