Try this- get a crop. VERY important. Then, put a dressage saddle on the horse (or western, the heaviest one you have lol) and mount the pony. Be flexible, and NOT stiff- also very important. When he goes to buck, sit back in the saddle and give him a good kick in the ribs (this worked on my horse that loves to buck). If a kick doesn't work, give him a good smack with your crop.
