There's a product called Concrete Rust Remover that's available from "The Rust Store" that works wonders on removing rust stains from driveways, sidewalks, etc. I had previously tried several other products with no luck, but then found this product online. It's available at http://www.theruststore.com.
I have used LimeAway with fair success on small rust stains on concrete. Just squirt it on the stain and let it set a bit, then scrub a bit and rinse. It may take more than one application but the results were pretty good for me.
Another product we have had great success with is F9 Cleaner from Front9Restoration.com. It removed 100% of our driveway rust.
I have rust stains in my kitchen sink. What tools or products are available for cleaning rust from sinks without scratching them?
If it starts to rust then it most definately will leave a rust mark on the concrete.
i have found trying baking soda made into a paste and a scrub brush. if that doesnt work CLR takes most rust stains out.
any acid based cleaner works well on rust however acid will also remove unoxidized iron and can cause hydrogen brittleness which in most cases will not be a problem but if it is you can use a 50/50 water and cyanide mixture to safely remove rust, CAUTION CYANIDE IS POISONOUS
Rust remover is a liquid that can be used to remove rust. A homemade rust remove is white vinegar. It can be sprayed directly onto the rust.
It is not correct.
Bleach will only remove a small portion of the stain and the scrub brush on concrete will definitely cause permanent damage to the concrete. Once concrete is "spot treated" with improper tools, chemicals or techniques it can be permanently damaged. Battery acid stains are not rust and are a chemical reaction within the concrete. If you try Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrochloric will only remove a maximum of 60% of the stain. It is very dangerous and will permanently damage your concrete. The only reason HCL Acid works is because it dissolves the cement past and takes a small amount of stain with it. Battery Acid Stains can travel up to 2" deep into the concrete. There is only one solution that will work- it is a new product called F9 BARC (Battery Acid Restoration Cleaner) made by Front 9 Restoration, Inc.
By using white vinegar we could remove rust from plastic.
Water and aluminum foil can remove surface rust on the chrome of a gun. Steel wool can also be used to remove rust. It is advised to never use a oil to remove rust or to clean a gun.
