Im going to assume you mean the Korean War. Both the Korean War and the Vietnam War were products of an ongoing battle between Capitalism and Communism. The United States supported South Korea because they fostered a Capitalistic-style of government, while Communist China supported the Communistic-style government used in North Korea.
