The Latin word post (followed by the accusative form of a noun) means after, behind or inferior to: post bellum = after the war.

The words a, de, e, ex (which all take the ablative) can have the same meaning: ex aestate = after the summer.

After all is tamen.

The day after is postridie.

After which is postquam.
