'cuit' a very nice word if you are a cook
It could vary depending on what exactly you're saying, but the general term is cuit
to cook is cuisiner, faire la cuisine.

Cooking isn't a loanword from French, but "cuisine" is.

home cooking is translated "cuisine familiale" in French
The French word for cooking is cuisinière
food preparation is called 'la cuisine' in French. If you think of the industrial process of preparing food for selling it, you may say 'préparation culinaire' (you may also say that for your cooking, but that's snobbish)
