There is no dumpling, fried or otherwise, in French cuisine, so it is a tricky question.
The closest to dumplings would be the Italian gnocchi, the quenelle, but that's much bigger and rarely fried, and millas in the South West, which are polenta lozenges that are usually fried.
Fried chicken is "poulet roti" in French.
