It means it has more power.If it fits in your phone it should work.But look where the battery goes it might say there is a may battery you can put in it.
The charger might have something wrong with it. Or the battery is shot. Go to the shop where you got your phone and show them your charger and battery see what they say.

Take off the back cover of your phone, and take out the battery. The battery should say what type it is.

This could happen for a variety of reasons. The battery might be physically damaged (worn contacts, water damage, etc.) or there could be a problem with the phone causing it to not recognize batteries. Try another battery in the phone to narrow down the possible culprits.
