While 'aka' does indeed mean "red," it is in the noun form, and therefore incorrect if used as an adjective. In this case, it would be "akai ryuu," and "akai inazuma."
竜means 'dragon' in Japanese.
火竜(Ka Ryu) means 'fire drake'.
The other ryu 龍 also means dragon but it's more often used when referring to the Chinese dragon.
Both kanjis can be used in names.
Also, 火which means 'fire' can be pronounced two ways 'ka' or 'hi' but in names, it's almost usually pronounced 'ka'.
Shiroi Karyuu is how you say white fire dragon. Shiroi means "white" and Karyuu or Karyu means "fire dragon" hope that helps!
