Why are people typing random things on WikiAnswers and then submitting them?

The people who do that think that WikiAnswers is more like a search engine from the WikiAnswers database, so they type in what they would in a search engine, not knowing they are asking a question and not searching for a question like they would in a search engine.

Is WikiAnswers a good or a bad search engine?

Actually, WikiAnswers isn't a search engine - it has several search features, but examples of true search engines would be Google or AltaVista. A search engine searches for information based on keywords and returns a listing of sites where the information can be found. WikiAnswers is a wiki-based Q&A site, where questions and answers are grown and edited collaboratively by the community. What's nice about WikiAnswers is that you can search for AND find the information you are looking for all in one place. So, the answer to your question is, "No. WikiAnswers is not a bad search engine because it's not a search engine at all."

What is the difference between WikiAnswers and Google Search?

Is WikiAnswers the best ever search site?

I believe that WikiAnswers is the best ever search site for those questions that no one around you knows, but is so complicated, no website has that exact question, and you just need a real answer by a real person. That is why WikiAnswers is the best ever search site for those questions no other website could ever answer.

Why does this site not give any information?

This site gives plenty of information. You may have WikiAnswers confused with a search engine! A search engine will give you instant responses. WikiAnswers will give you a more thoughtful answer, but it takes time for someone who knows the answer to get to your question and answer it.

Can WikiAnswers search kids around the country?

No, WikiAnswers cannot search for kids around the country. WikiAnswers is a Q&A website, designed for asking questions with specific answers. WikiAnswers is not a search engine that will look up anyone in the country.

Is there any way WikiAnswers can stop the flow of a question to the top of a Google search when no answer to the question has been provided?

Yes, but then the chances of that question ever getting an answer would drop drastically.

What is Google and is it a rival to WikiAnswers?

Google and WikiAnswers are two different kinds of websites. Google is a search engine. It searches through all sites on the web and gives you results. WikiAnswers is a Question and Answer database. You ask a question and someone else answers it. There is no competition between Google and WikiAnswers. Google provides better/faster results in some cases, while WikiAnswers is better in others.
