No they do not, the MacBook Pro is an aluminum unibody and has a different shape than the previous MacBooks. You should search for pictures of both to compare, and you will see that they are quite different actually.

A few older TVs did have a Firewire port but a recent HD TV will probably have an HDMI port which you could connect to a MacBook Pro via its mini display port. You will probably need to chain a couple of cables together (See links below) but it will depend on the connections available on the TV.
That's a good question. Whenever you buy any Apple product you have to know, they will always come out with something better. Sense they just came out with the new MacBook Pro, i would recommend buying it now, just because apple is mostly going to be busy with the Ipad so they won't really have time to update the MacBook Pro anytime soon.
