it is easy! all you need to do is press write a note then after you write your note it will say send via spotpass and send via streetpass pick either one and someone will get your notes!!
Inside the swapnote app click the huge button on the bottom of the touch screen. next write your note. Then it will ask you to send it with street pass or spotpass.

to register your friends your friend must have a 3ds with swapnote also and then once you find them you have to enter there code
The 3DS does not support email, however you can use email through the internet browser. If done correctly, photos can be uploaded to an email through the browser. The SD card photos are stored on can also be inserted into a computer and emailed.
A 3DS code is a code where people online share their own unique code to add into your 3DS so you are friends online

Nintendo didn't include PictoChat on the 3DS because the sequel to PictoChat, called SwapNote, is currently available on the eShop. You can swap messages through Spotpass, or Streetpass.
