A very big HEADACHE until I finally found an easy way to do it: On a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer 5.0L, you remove the battery, then the battery platform (two bolts and one nut). Now you have room to stick a slotted screwdriver between the plastic interlocked wings of the condenser and the radiator. You twist the screwdriver to break off the overlapped sections of the wings on the old radiator. Now you can separate them and remove either or both the radiator and the condenser. When you install the new radiator and/or condenser, simply drill holes in the wings before installing them, then use a tie-down (cable tie) to secure the radiator and the condenser together.
bottom of radiator on right side facing engine
The air conditioning condenser is at the front of the vehicle in front of the engine cooling system radiator
The low pressure port on a 1998 Mercury mountaineer is located on top of the ac drier. The drier is mounted close to the radiator on the passenger side.
Is it the fan behind the radiator, or the fan that blows air into the cabin?
On a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer : The radiator is at the front of the engine compartment and has ( 2 ) larger diameter rubber hoses connecting the radiator to the engine ( 1 hose on the top and 1 hose on the bottom of the radiator ) * the air conditioning condensor will be in front of the radiator towards the front of the vehicle *
No,a transmission on a 2005 mercury mountaineer will not fit on a 2000 mercury mountaineer unless you change the oil message on the mountaineer.
When the thermostat is open the coolant will flow through the top radiator hose in to the radiator and out to the water pump through the bottom radiator hose
When facing the front of the Mercury Mountaineer, the drain plug is on the lower left of the radiator. Place a bucket under the drain plug spigot before loosening to catch the coolant. To empty the radiator, turn the drain plug three-quarters of a turn. Tighten the drain plug before re-filling with coolant.
It's near the front of the engine compartment and has ( 2 ) rubber hoses connecting it to the engine ( at the top and the bottom of the radiator on opposite ends )
Never seen a power steering hose connected to the radiator. Transmission fluid hose, yes.
Mercury Mountaineer was created in 1997.
