Materials: 9 volt battery, two number 2 pencils without the eraser and metal part, cup, water, thin piece of cardboard, and two wires, 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions: Sharpen the pencils at both ends, 2: cut the cardboard so it fits over the glass, 3: stick the pencils through the cardboard into the glass, 4: dissolve the salt into the water,5: attach both wires to both graphite tips of the pencils, 4: attach the other end of the wires onto the 9 volt battery.
Conclusions: You will see bubbles at the tip of the pencils, that is the hydrogen collecting in the water. Hopefully this would help.
Yes
RESULTS: The water will be split into hydrogen and oxygen and it will be trapped until you release it from the glass

THIS PROCESS IS CALLED HYDROLYSIS
its actually called electrolysis.
By electrolysis, passing an electric current through the water. Hydrogen and oxygen appear at the two different electrodes, hydrogen at the anode and oxygen at the cathode. The water needs to have some salt dissolved in it as pure water has a high resistance.
Electrolysis a method of separating elements by pushing an electric current through a compound. It is used in various industrial application such as removing copper from its ore. It is also used to separate hydrogen and oxygen from water. Electrolysis isn't the most efficient way to obtain hydrogen, but it is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to "home-brew" hydrogen.
The electrolysis of water can separate the hydrogen and oxygen from each other
this is done by putting 2 electrodes into the water, an anode(+ve) and a cathode(-ve), and the hydrogen is attracted to the cathode and the oxygen attracted to the anode
Yes. You can achieve this by adding an electrolyte to the water and passing an electric current through it.
You pass an electric current through it (electrolysis)

Oxygen and hydrogen are the two ellements that make up water.
When water is broken down chemically the hydrogen and oxygen atoms split apart from on another and rearrange into diatomic hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O2) molecules. 2H2O --> 2H2 + O2
No. It is a compound made of the elements oxygen and hydrogen: H2O.
water is made of two hydrogen and one oxygen. (H2O)
We can't create hydrogen and oxygen because they are natural, water is a mixture of both. Hydrogen and oxygen are elements and can't be made.
They are split into oxygen and hydrogenThey are split into oxygen and hydrogen
Water molecule
Hydrogen molecules and oxygen molecules can be easily split by what electrolysis. This is the process which is used to breakdown water.
Yes. Water can be split into hydrogen and oxygen by electrolysis. The hydrogen that results is flammable.
molecules
When you split water you form hydrogen and oxygen gas. The gases are the bubbles.
Yes. You cannot get water from hydrogen alone. You need oxygen. Since oxygen is a part of the atmosphere, simply burning hydrogen in air will give you water vapor. Passing an electric current through water will split it back into hydrogen and oxygen.
Hydrogen is generally produced by electrolysis of water, where electricity is used to split it into its component atoms: Hydrogen and oxygen
If water is being split into hydrogen and oxygen then a change of state (phase change) will occur if the water is in liquid form and the hydrogen and oxygen are evolved as gases. If water vapor is being split, then obviously no change of state occurs. Conversely, solid water in the form of ice could be split into hydrogen and oxygen gas, also undergoing a phase change.
There isn't a chemical process that separates oxygen and hydrogen in water. To split the water into hydrogen and oxygen you need to perform electrolysis on pure water. Hydrogen gas will be given off at the cathode (- end) and oxygen will be given off at the anion (+ end)
Oxygen and hydrogen are the two ellements that make up water.
