Use the SMART criteria to set goals for yourself.
# Specific - Don't be vague about what you want. Saying, 'I want better grades' is vague. Say something like "I want to improve my GPA by .25 this semester over last semester's GPA." # Measureable - It must be measurable. In the example above, a specific number that can be tracked. # Attainable - It must be achievable. You don't want to set a goal of straight A's if your current average is close to a C. # Realistic - It is a goal that you want to work to and are willing to work to.
# Timely - It should have a specific time frame to it. It should be something that can be done in a few months at most.
