Yes the timing can be set.
Neither, on a 4 cycle engine the timing is set at the end of the compression stroke of the number 1 cylinder.
The 4 cylinder gas engine has a timing Chain. The 4 cylinder diesel engine has a timing Belt.
The 2.3 liter DOHC , 4 cylinder engine in a 2006 Ford Ranger has a timing CHAIN
Yes it doesNow for the right answer:Actually, the LS1 has a 4 cylinder engine, and the LS2 has a V6. All Saturn 4 cylinder engines uses a timing CHAIN, and the V6 uses a timing belt. So, verify that your engine has a 4 cylinder engine, and if it does, it has a timing chain.
If it's the 4 cylinder engine, you don't. The 4 cylinder uses a timing chain and it doesn't need to be replaced until you rebuild the engine. If it's the 6 cylinder engine you need the special tool set that aligns all 4 camshafts while holding the crankshaft at the proper position. It's effectively impossible to replace the timing belt without the special tool set; don't even try. Last time I checked, the tool set was about $500.
Hi, The answer for your question would be, the timing will set based on crank angle position only as it is done in 4 stroke engine. It differs for a TBI based engine and GDI based engine.
videos on how do you set the timing mark on a 2000 Toyota Camry Solara 2.2 liter , 4 cylinder
how do I set the timing on 2001 ford escape xlt 4 cylinder
In a 2002 Suzuki Vitara : The 1.6 litre four cylinder engine has a timing BELT and the 2.0 litre four cylinder engine has a timing CHAIN
The 1.6 liter 4 cylinder , has a timing belt , and IS an interference engine The 2.0 liter 4 cylinder , has a timing chain , and I don't know if it is or isn't an interference engine
the engine's timing is computer controlled. What timing specs are you looking for. What engine is it? 2.0l VVT engine?
