There are two ways to do it: the cheap way and the right way.The cheap way is strictly with feeler gauges. You remove the distributor cap and rotor, rotate the engine until the points are all the way open, loosen the little screw holding the points in, gap the points to 0.016" and put the car back together.
The right way also requires a dwell-tach. After you set the gap to .016, hook up the dwell-tach, put it in four cylinder mode, and start the engine. Put the instrument on TACH and adjust idle to 1500 rpm. Then put it on DWELL - the length of time, in degrees, the points are open. The dwell should be 50 degrees plus or minus two. If it's too short, the points are too far closed; if too long, they're too far open.
My Chilton book shows that it has electronic ignition ( no points )
I know how. hmu 1600 ms points gt= whowebelcc51
The points gap on a 1978 International Scout is typically set to 0.019-0.021 inches. This is the recommended spacing between the points contacts when adjusting the ignition system for optimal performance. It's important to follow the manufacturer's specifications for proper functioning of the vehicle's ignition system.
TV cost $1600 more than the phone set. Phone set cost 20% of TV. How much does the phone set cost? 100%-20%=$1600=80% $1600/(80%)=> 1% = $20 20 x 1%=20% 20 x $20=$400 = phone set cost
in 1600 BC at Greece the Olympic games were set.
if you're working on a bug, pick up John Muirs "How to keep your Volkswagen alive" its a life saver for any VW owner. ok since i dont know what your engine code is im gonna give you this website and it should help you out. http://www.type2.com/bartnik/enginecodes.htm
what is The set of all points collinear to two points?
No, but is an infinite set of points.
To set the timing on a 1978 Ironhead Sportster with points and condenser, first, remove the timing cover to access the points. Rotate the engine to the "F" mark on the timing mark window to align the timing mark with the pointer. Use a feeler gauge to adjust the points gap to 0.018 inches at the highest point of the cam lobe. Finally, loosen the points plate and rotate it until the points just begin to open, then tighten the screws to secure the plate in place. Reassemble the timing cover and check the ignition system.
A set of points on a straight line are called 'collinear points'.
The solution set is the set of all points representing solutions.
