Check your layer opacity setting and also check the text color. May be you are writing like white text on white background. If it dos'nt help then pls write here or leave a message in my message board. The problem, for me, was caused by the fact that my psd file had a resolution of 1 pixel / inch. I'm not very photoshop savvy but if you set the resolution to normal for the document or simply make a new document with the correct resolution and drag the old image in, that should solve your problem.
