How to unlocked the layer Photoshop cs3?

If you have a locked layer with a light grey lock icon, then duplicate it and delete the locked one. If you wish, go into your settings so background and merged layers won't be locked by default.

If you locked a layer yourself, a dark grey lock icon will appear. Simply select that layer, and click on the lock tool, which has the same icon.

Edit: typically, the layer in question is the background layer. Double-click on it to change its name, and even using the default (Layer 0), the resulting layer will be unlocked.

How do you change psd to indesign format?

You can't change a PSD file into an INDD file because the INDD format isn't an image format - they're text files. To incorporate the image into the InDesign project, you have to perform a Place (File - Place) to put the image into the ID project. The image file then becomes a part of the overall ID file when it's saved, but it isn't changed to the ID format. InDesign links to the image file for both project presentation and printing purposes.

What is the use of trap command in Photoshop?

The "trap" command in Photoshop should not be used.

The description below is correct, but trap is press-dependent: I have a five-tower newspaper press, and all five towers need a different amount of trap. The printer will apply the amount of trap he needs for whatever press he runs your job on.

There's also no need to trap inside of a photograph.

- - - - -

A trap is an overlap that prevents tiny gaps in the printed image caused by a slight misregistration on press. Contact your service provider before you do any trapping. In most cases, your print shop determines whether trapping is needed. If so, the print shop staff will tell you what values to enter in the Trap dialog box.

Trapping is intended to correct the misalignment of solid colors. In general, you don't need traps for continuous-tone images such as photographs. Excessive trapping may produce an outline effect. These problems may not be visible on-screen and might show up only in print. Photoshop uses standard rules for trapping:

All colors spread under black.

Lighter colors spread under darker colors.

Yellow spreads under cyan, magenta, and black.

Pure cyan and pure magenta spread under each other equally.

Save a version of the file in RGB mode, in case you want to reconvert the image later. Then choose Image > Mode > CMYK Color to convert the image to CMYK mode.

Choose Image > Trap.

For Width, enter the trapping value provided by your print shop. Then select a unit of measurement, and click OK. Consult your print shop to determine how much misregistration to expect.
