How do you set up a firewall on my mac?

If you're using 10.5(?) or earlier open System Preferences/ Sharing then select Firewall from the option and under the Firewall-Off/On option select Stop if it's already on.

If you're using 10.6 or above then open System Preferences/ Security select the Firewall option and select Stop.
