To set the valve preload on a 1988 Ford Ranger, first ensure the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke for the cylinder you're adjusting. Then, loosen the rocker arm adjustment nut and turn the pushrod until there's a slight resistance, indicating the lifter is engaged. Tighten the adjustment nut to the specified torque, usually around 20-25 ft-lbs, while checking for any additional play and ensuring the pushrod can still rotate freely. Repeat this process for each cylinder as needed.
The load capacity for a 2008 Ford Ranger varies depending on the specific model and configuration. Generally, it has a payload capacity ranging from about 1,200 to 1,400 pounds. It's important to check the vehicle's owner manual or the door jamb sticker for the exact capacity for your specific Ranger variant.
I have a 95 ranger and I hauled a load of pine logs about 25 miles weighing in at 3 1/2 tons

A 2.9 Ford Ranger NEVER has much power, but if it's lower than normal, try running a computer diag scan to see if the computer has picked up something.
The shocks on a 2000 Ford Ranger are replaced by jacking the vehicle up, removing the wheels, unbolting the shock, and removing it from the vehicle. Because the vehicle is supported off the ground, the shocks are not under load and can readily be replaced.
i have a 2000 ford ranger xlt super cab 4x4. the bumper specs are 200lbs down force on hitch and 2000 lbs owners manual says 7000 lbs max total weight with things loaded.

A coil pack can be checked for continuity and resistance with an ohm meter. But for heat or load failure the only way to check a coil pack is to replace it.
u can plow with anything, but a ranger is a light truck. this means it will not have the traction to dig into the snow(4wd is the way to go ) . also the trans. is not built for the added load of plowing. I have a 1997 ranger xlt 4 wheel drive that I've used for 4 years to plow and it works fine.
