You should start by taking out the cars' nodger. The nodger is found next to the sixth piston on the left hand side, almost at 10 'o clock. Once the nodger is removed start the car. If the car starts, drain all the petrol that is in the petrol tank. You should notice that your car will not be able to start anymore. If this is the case, now would be a good time to call a mechanic, preferably one with more than 3 years' experience. Ask him/her to add an extra hand brake to the sealing of your car and to help you set the valve timing on your VW 1.4 1999. If the problem persists sell your car.
