The range that these RC systems can control the target can vary from a few metres to kilometres depending on the technology used. Autonomous control means for a system to be able to perform a process without external intervention. Autonomous control systems that have high levels of autonomy should be able to complete tasks by its self. For Autonomous systems to complete these tasks they need to have hardware and software which can achieve the required task without the need of external intervention. A fully autonomous system should have the ability to repair one of its components if it fails, other systems should also be able troubleshoot and solve problems without external intervention.
