Shut the throttle. Pull in your clutch. Kick the gear lever down. Let out the clutch.
More advanced:
Shut the throttle. Pull in your clutch. Kick the gear lever down. Blip the throttle - let out the clutch.
Shift pattern from neutral is 1 down, 5 up.
I dont as such drive, but can ride a motorbike manuall, but you use the numbers 1 to 4 as you progress in speed, upon average your first gear is to start of(10-15 miles an hr) as you gain speed you change up a gear,as you slow down you change down gears.
1 Down, 5 Up
1 down 3 up
1 down 4 up
1 down and 4 up
the gears are as followed 1(super low) N,2,3,4 you pull up to shift down and press down to shift up
You cannot have a horizontal shift in the down direction: a horizontal shift must be left or right!
That is a shift pattern, only problem is your pattern would be 1 down and 4 up. From neutral position, you click the shift lever down to go into first gear, then each time you shift you will click one position (gear) up at a time until you are in 5th gear.
1 down, 4 up
The shift pattern for a Kawasaki KX60 dirt bike is typically N-1-2-3-4. This means that neutral is selected by half-kicking down, first gear by fully pushing down, and subsequent gears are reached by lifting the shift lever up multiple times.
1 up 4 down
