In the US, an UNLOADED rifle or shotgun may legally be sent by US Mail. Many postal workers are not aware that this can be done, but it is in the Domestic Mail Manual. Handguns may only be mailed by a licensed Dealer or Manufacturer.
Both UPS and FedEx may be used to ship an UNLOADED rifle, shotgun or handgun for repair. The item must be securely packaged, in a sturdy box and should have no markings on the outer package that it contains a gun. It will need to be shipped from a UPS or FedEx Hub- not a local storefront. Handguns must be shipped Next Day Air.
Federal law permits shipping a firearm to a gunsmith or manufacturer for repair, and for the repairer to ship it back to you. Use lots of tape, and lots of padding- especially at the butt and muzzle ends. Did I mention- make SURE it is not loaded?
MOST "courier" companies do not- it is published in their rules, known as tariffs. In the US, UPS and FedEx DO ship firearms, so long as you comply with Federal law on shipping, Rifles and shotguns may also be shipped by the US Mail (within the US)

Unlikely. Most firearms must ship to a licensed dealer.

You repair your ship by pulling into any harbor. You can upgrade your ship at the ship builder's at Dragon Cove.
Generally speaking, no, however, there is an except in most states. You can ship a handgun directly to the manufacturer for repair and they can ship it directly back to you, however, individuals are not supposed to ship handguns in the mail, but by Fedex or UPS or some other secondary carrier.
Provided you follow all the laws, yes. <><><> You may ship to yourself. If shipping to someone else, across a state line, it must pass through a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder in THEIR state. This may be a dealer, collector, etc. You may ship a firearm to a gunsmith or manufacturer for repair (they hold FFLs) and they may return it to you. Long guns (rifles/ shotguns may be mailed by US Mail. Handguns must be shipped by a common carrier, such as UPS or FedEx. Exception- DEALERS may use US Mail for handguns, private citizens may not. Please note this does not apply to muzzle loading firearms- they are not considered firearms under Federal law, and can be mailed or shipped without a FFL.
