From waist? I think you should go to a tailer.
Use a train that is separate from the dress and attaches at the waist. Then you can simply take it off when the train becomes a problem.
ask a seamstress to do it for you
The bones in a wedding dress (they are now more flexible and not as difficult to wear) are from under the breast line to the waist pulling in the waist to make it look smaller.
The dress (designed by Maggie Sottero) is Briony, a silk organza strapless dress with a satin ribbon and floral detail at the waist.

Taeyang - Wedding Dress
To buy a wedding dress one month before the wedding is cutting it very close. You could go to a wedding shop ASAP because you will need to pick out the wedding dress the same day and have it altered (sometimes there is one to two alteration sessions at the shop you bought the dress at.) You could borrow a relatives wedding dress or a friends weddings dress. Simple is the key to wedding dresses today. Example: Satin wedding dress with no frills or bows; slightly off the shoulder; long; veil does not need to be too long; plain fitted bodice that could have a ballerina style below the waist to the ankles. Satin shows and perhaps small diamond (or crystal earrings) and a small dainty drop on a dainty chain with a diamond or crystal to finish it off.
If you are taking your wedding dress apart to make it look more like a prom dress then you could go simple without lace; bows; train (long part in the back of the wedding dress); no veiling at all. Keep the lines of the dress simple. If the wedding dress skirt was wide then you could take it in so it is more form fitting or leave it as it is without wearing the crinoline that went underneath the wedding dress. If you don't have a wedding dress and you don't want it to look like one then off the shoulder is becoming to a young woman (sleeveless of course) and it can be form fitting or have soft veiling from the waist to the ankles and most young women of today wear soft colors to their prom and not generally white.

A very thin person should never wear a clinging wedding dress, but wear a wedding dress with a bodice that has open lace by the upper chest line and also open lace down the full length of the arms; full long skirt line; ruffles and a bow at the back will also make the waist or small of the back look wider.
no. when you have the wedding you will already have the wedding dress on though.
I will dress like when i am in the wedding picture. I think dress nice shows respect to the new couple.
