There's nothing wrong with it, and if you look at one point of view, it's good for conserving water. However, some couples are embarrassed to cleanse themselves in front of others. Sometimes hygiene is better kept private, even if everybody practices it. It's not the most romantic thing for a still-blooming relationship.

Some older men who work on the same site sometimes have shower together with other site workers.
It's uncomfortable when someone is gay. It'll take some time to get use to.
