If, however, you do find yourself on the receiving end of an crocodile's bad temperement, you should attempt to hold it's jaws shut with your arms - although the muscles that CLOSE the jaws are VERY POWERFUL, the muscles that OPEN the jaws are relatively VERY WEAK, and can easily be held tight by a human. Being aggressive with an crocodilewill only exacerbate matters, so try to be calm and 'gentle' with one if you are trying to move it/catch it or whatever. I've heard that poking the eyes also provokes them to retreat
