The noun "wood" (material) is a mass noun, like paper or grass. It does not normally use a plural.

However, if talking about different *kinds" of woods, the term "woods" could be used. But "woods" is normally used as a plural meaning forested areas.

Examples:

"Take all the wood to the back yard,"

"The island is known for its exotic woods, such as mahogany."

"The furniture was carved from various hardwoods."

"The boy was lost in the woods."

The plural is also used for Golf clubs, e.g. he carried several lofted woods in his bag.
