• 1. On most tags with the screw in crown, new tags are fitted with a tube over the crown pole.Simply unscrew the crown and pull to fully opened position and if you see the tube pretty good chance its authentic.

• 2. The bezel. Most tags are equipped with a uni-directional bezel..turn the bezel and count the clicks. Genuine tags have 60 clicks.

• 3. Theluminescentmarkers. Make sure they glow brightly.

• 4.Check the quality of the laser etched model and serial number on thecaseback.Check for a stamped tag logo, not just surface stamped, but a nice even embossing into the steel.

• 5. On the Link style bracelets, to size them you simply push out an end pin and each link is designed to be a half piece. Each half piece isindependentlyscrewed in to the next link. A fake tag link style bracelet usually has pins in several places for sizing. On a traditional tag bracelet a push pin style is used to size the bracelet so you have to look for an additional small steel gasket within each link. More expensive to produce this way so most fakes leave it out.
