Is it good for Guinea pigs to poop alot?
I can't say it is GOOD, but it is OK. If your piggy poops alot, don't worry! Because it just naturally happens at some point. You can't force a guinea pig to hold in it's poop, right? So clean your guinea pigs cage weekly. But spot clean the part that your guinea pigs poops/pees in daily. Because you might be surprised how messy it can get in just 12 hours! So, clean your guinea pig's cage, 'cause it might smell. Hope this helped!

Spot clean! in the morning, pick up your piggies poo. in the afternoon, pick up your piggies poo. right before you go to bed or after dinner, pick up your piggies poo. do this everyday, and you won't have to do a really big, messy clean of your piggies cage. Or, if you're lazy, then clean your piggies cage completely every other day.... i hope this helped a little bit! -Noobes You can do a small spot clean once a day, but fully clean at least once a week. Guinea pigs are definatly allowed outside!! Although there are a few things you should look out for: -Guinea Pigs enjoy eating grass, BUT you have to look out for fertilizer or animal droppings. Those are really hazardous to guinea pigs. -If you area has lots of trees or woods around it, than be careful of hawks or cats that can come out and nab your guinea pigs. It's a good idea to put a cage over them or a grazing arc (I think that's what it's called) -You should also put out a little hiding spot for your guinea pig to run into if he feels scared. -Only put out a guinea pigs if it's 65-80F degrees out, or else they freeze/overheat. Now and then but not to much. It cant be to hot and it cant be to cold. It has to be in an outdoor cage. Whats cute is they eat the grass but dont get excited and do it because they can get ticks.

Why do guinea pigs have a oily spot above their tail stub?
This is called the grease gland, and it is only found in male guinea pigs. It is a scent gland, and it is perfectly normal for it to be oily under the fur in this spot. The grease gland should be left alone unless it becomes clogged and infected. This doesn't happen often, but if you suspect a problem, take your piggy to an exotics-specialized vet.
