* Generally when an individual has not seen someone for a very long time they can simply ask what is new in their life and then you can tell them the same about your life. By starting the conversation this way one thing leads to another about different subjects and soon the awkwardness will go away. If they want to take the relationship further and you don't then be honest in saying so.
