To start a donation pool, go to your profile page. Near the top right hand corner, there should be a button saying "Edit Page"
This button will bring up a little pop-up window over your profile page. This pop-up window is split into two parts - you'll want to look at the left-hand part. At the bottom of this left-hand part are some numbers, which allow you to browse through the different things that you can put onto your profile page. The one you're looking for should be called "Donate Points" and should say something like "Donations to a cause" underneath. Just drag this across to the right-hand side of the pop-up window and drop it where you want it (Hint: You can only put some widgets in certain areas of your profile page, so if it's not working, try putting it somewhere else)
To add a reason for why you want people to donate to you, click on the little arrow on the right-hand side of the widget and select "Edit Widget" - it's fairly self-explanatory from there.
