I can only give you a generic answer bc there are alot of different mowers out there. If it has a priming bulb you want to push it (usually about three or four times). Then you squeeze the safety lever at the handle and the pull the pull chord. If it has a maual choke selector then you first put the lever in the CHOKE position and the start the mower and then gradually push the lever to the RUN position as it is warming up. Also, always make sure the spark plug wire is fully connected and it has fuel before trying to start it to avoid feeling kinda stupid later. Hope this helps and good luck.
