Best Answer

Start the lanyard with a lanyard hook and cross over your two strings. Keep weaving by making two loops (doing this by flipping two strings of the same color over to the opposite side) then take the other two strings and make them skip over the first loop (from their "perspective") and then through the second loop (also from their "perspective") until you want to end it and tie it A lanyard string is a flat string that you can weave to make designs. The process, while relatively simple, can be used to create quite complex patterns and designs. The best way to learn is to find someone to teach you. Often Scouts and Boatswain Mates know how to do it.

If you know how to box braid then all you have to do is put your finger on the middle of the string (make sure your string is even!) and do a regular box braid and tighten it. That's how you start a Lanyard!?!?

well first you are going to need string. you can get it at michaels or Walmart or hobby lobby. hobby lobby is the cheapest. next you will need 2 different pieces of string it can be the same color or different. different would be recommended. at first it will be difficult to get the strings going in the right direction. the hardest part is the beginning but then it gets easy. i would suggest going to YouTube and looking up how to make a lanyard and it will show you a play by play

HEY! heres how to do it:

1:get two pieces of gimp

2:make an X with the gimp

3:take the bottom piece and drag it over the top string then take the other side of the bottom and do the same

4:then take your string without the loops and do over under-over under with both sides of the string

The easiest way is to make the first kind I ever learned. You start with two long peices of lanyard string. You can choose any two colors. If you want to clip it to something, I suggest you get a clip that you can fasten to it. Use the two strings as one two start. Put them through the clip, and tie them. Then If you know how to do a lanyard stitch, then you can do the rest. To do a stitch, you fold two ends over (of the same color), Then weave one string through them, then the other. Just over one string for each. Over, under. The first stitch is often hardest. The rest is easier though! I hope you enjoy this, and i hope i helped!

A person can finish a lanyard by tying the strings into a tight knot. This insures that that lanyard will not come apart and if beads are present, they will not fall off.
