How can I start the engine on a Lincoln Town Car. I accidently caused the horn to keep blowing and I kept pushing buttons on the remote until it quit blowing. Then the anti theft lights were flashing on the dash and the engine would not start.
try putting petrol in
That is the check engine light, see related questions below.
my car doing the same thing
If the check engine light is flashing a spark plug misfire has been detected - have it scanned for trouble codes to diagnose and repair as soon as possible
Mine comes on periodically too, and then the engine wont start. If you sit tight for about 5 - 10 minutes until the light stops flashing, the engine will start right up.
turn key to on position ,but do not try to start until antitheft light quites flashing. It may take 5 to 10 minutes. When antitheft light quites flashing you should be able to start your car. If not repeat the procedure.
i replaced the fuel pump and now my theft system wont work
1. You have a problem with the cruise control. or 2. If your check engine light is also on, get the code read, cancel the light and the cruise indicator light will probably quit flashing and the cruise will start working again.
The flashing light is for your hard drive which you are downloading to.
I don't know what YOUR vehicle does specifically, but most diesels have "glow plugs" that come on when the engine is cold. The glow plugs warm a spot in the cylinder making the engine start much more easily, especially in cold weather. I can't speak for YOUR engine, but in general, there is usually a light on the instrument cluster that flashes while the glow plug is heating. Once the glow plugs are up to temperature, the light stops flashing and you can start the engine. If there is any doubt, read the section of the owners manual that describes the operation of the glow plugs.
I have a Suzuki xl7 2008 and the ac light is flashing and the Suv will not start
If you mean the 'check engine light' is flashing, there are many possible causes. The engine management system monitors various sensors to ensure that the engine is running as it was designed. The check engine light will come on if the computer senses a problem with the emissions system. One common problem (especially with the early models) is that the coils can wear out prematurely and start to cause a misfire. When a cylinder misfires, raw gasoline fumes are introduced into the exhaust stream. The O2 sensors register the excess fuel vapor and trigger the check engine light. If the condition lasts for more than a few seconds, the check engine light will change from flashing to steady and will remain on until the car goes through numerous startup cycles without experiencing a similar misfire condition.
