Well it depends who the guy is..u could always ask him a question about homework or what the teacher said..or u could drop something near him and most nice guys would pick it up for you :)...then once u start talking to him a little you can friend request him on facebook

If I were you (coming from a girls persepctive) I would first talk to her. Not about random things of course but get to know her a little bit. Do not rush into anything. Most girls will be polite enough and talk and engage into a conversation.
