If your sprinter is pre 2001 and you run out of fuel the best way to reprime the system is as follows : locate the fuel filter which is situated on right side of engine, looking from front, its about half way down the block. You will see three pipes. The one on the right is the feed from the tank, remove the clip and pull off the rubber pipe. Now you can buy an in line bulb fuel primer from a motor spares shop fit this between the pipe and filter. Now remove the center pipe on the filter which pulls out after removing white sliding retainer. Now squeeze the bulb primer which will very quickly draw fuel up the line from the tank and fill the filter until all the air expels from the center hole. Once you see only fuel and not air coming out you have now bled the fuel up to the filter. Now squeeze bulb primer to push fuel up in to rail and expelling any air. Now replace the center pipe and refit retainer. Also remove bulb primer and quickly replace feed pipe. using a spanner slacken the two front injector pipes, now turn key to try to start for a few seconds then tighten injector pipes. your engine should now start after turning for approx 10 seconds. I know this works as I am a diesel mechanic and my 316 sprinter ran out of fuel recently. I hope this helps you all to start your sprinters after running out of fuel.

The Mercedes Sprinter fuel cut off switch is found under the hood just like in any other car. Look near the fuel lines, it will be close to that part of the car.
It seems that it's not getting fuel and I can't hear the fuel pump running "Where is the fuel switch location in a 1989 300SE Mercedes Benz?"
The 2003 Sprinter has a mechanical fuel pump on the engine. While changing the filter you have airlocked the fuel system. The way I restart them is to apply suction to the return hose on the filter(look for arrows) and pull on it until you get fuel. Had this problem on 2002 sprinter, the problem was the sensor on the bottom of the filter not connected properly
Maybe no fuel ahahahahahah!
It is on top of the engine. You have to remove the air filter assembly and the cover between the heads.
