There is no way to keep a rooster from crowing.

A tip you can try - keep your coop as dark as possible for as long as possible.

The only was to stop a rooster from crowing is to put him in something small. A rooster can only crow if he can stretch his neck.

Since that time, there have been 6 additional revisions all with the rooster and blue color, and most incorporating the triangle.

I do not think that St. Peter had a pet rooster. However, it is sometimes one of the symbols of the saint. The night before he died, Our Lord told Peter that before a rooster crowed (at dawn the following morning) that he would deny Our Lord three times. It happened just as Jesus predicted.

The difference between a rooster and Peter is mentioned in the Bible, when the Peter denied Christ three times before the rooster crowed.

There is no rooster on the French flag. The French flag is made of three vertical bars, blue to the mast, then white, then red. The rooster is an unofficial emblem for France, in reference to Gaul (France's area under Roman times, before France existed. Another source for the rooster is the country's main religion, Catholicism, in which the rooster is a common symbol, as it crows every morning heralding a new day - a symbol of the dead coming up to life again.

The tradition of place a rooster weathervane on the top of churches can be traced back to Pope Gregory I ( circa 540 - 604) who had said that the rooster "was the most suitable emblem of Christianity" representing "the emblem of St Peter". In the 9th century, Pope Nicholas I ordered that every church carry a rooster symbol either on the dome or steeple. The rooster, under Pope Nicholas I was deemed to be representative of Jesus' prophecy of Peter's betrayal (Luke 22:34), in which He said that Peter would deny Jesus three times before the rooster crowed on the morning following the Last Supper.
