Turn the ignition off.
First thing: Shift the car into neutral (N). This disconnects the engine from the wheels so the car stops accelerating. Then: Steer safely and apply brakes Turn off the engine once under control (don’t remove key/disable steering lock) Pull over safely Stay calm—neutral is the quickest way to regain control
If your accelerator gets stuck: Stay calm and shift the car to neutral. Apply the brakes firmly. Pull over safely and turn off the engine. Do not keep driving—have the car checked by a mechanic immediately.
If you have an older car that has a carburetor, the accelerator pump diaphragm may be defective
too many beers dude ..or the accelerator may be getting stuck
throttle plate stuck? I'm not sure. When I'm driving, I take my foot off the gas and the car jerks and when I have to stop and I push on the brakes the car revs and jerks forward and occasionally stalls
Stuck closed, you cannot. Stuck open, you are foolish
When you press the accelerator and brake together in a motor car, the engine will rev, but the brake will stop it from moving. Doing this repeatedly can cause the vehicle damage.
A sticking accelerator is usually the result of binding throttle cables or a broken return spring. Make sure that these items are ok as a stuck accelerator can be dangerous.
Take it to a qualified mechanic for a diagnstic Shut off the engine Shut off the engine
If your car is stuck on the tracks, and a train is approaching- then YES- get OUT of the car and get off the tracks. It is not that the train engineer does not want to stop, it is that he CANNOT stop- it may take a mile or more in distance to fully stop a heavy train. You will lose the car, but you will keep your life.
first of all is it injectors or carb, if a carb it could be a bad accelerator pump
The purpose of an accelerator is the car is to give the engine gas so the car will move.
