It is very nearly impossible to stop anyone from doing anything. If you truly believe that someone if performing harmful magical spells and aiming them at you, your best defense is to NOT believe they can harm you.
Magic need belief to make it work. If you refuse to believe, it can not work on you. If you are of a strong religious persuasion, it can not hurt to seek the protection of your own faith. That is not to say you run to your spiritual leader with tales of "witchcraft", "black magic" of "Satanic rites", that sort of thing just causes panic, confusion and a lot of misunderstanding. However, having you spiritual leader pray for you, praying for yourself and removing yourself from the influences of someone who claims they want to do you harm is the best course of action.
