I do this all the time and honestly it really works, If you pour boiled water into a cup then add a teaspoon of baking soda, then only a bit of salt and then add two drops of Iodine and then go gargle that. but if anything you can just put baking soda and salt if you don't have Iodine, but don't eat or drink at least 15-20mins after gargling it, so the things can have time to kill bacteria n stuff (my mom told me that. Another way is to eat garlic, or just spread it around our tongue ( also an other tip is that if u have a cold ((preferably) you can make a little hole in the garlic then get a cotton swab and get the juices of the garlic onto the cotton swab buy rolling it around . then put it all around your nostrils, it kinda hurts especially if your nose is red from all the tissues but really it works i swear! =Hope this helps and sorry if my explanation isn't the Best
I have never heard of usin iodine to cure a sore throat, but iodine is an anti-infectant, in other words, it kills germs. Despite the fact that the cold is caused by a virus, a sore throat is often caused by bacteria, and so killing them will get rid of the sore throat. However, if you stop the iodine before they are all dead, your sore throat will get worse.
