You'll get all the information you need and print it off and go over it with your boyfriend. When someone can understand something (and you'll give him a feeling of sharing and trying to help you) things should go along more smoothly. Having bipolar is not something that you should be ashamed of and doesn't mean you are crazy. Many people in the world suffer from different forms of depression and it's all to do with genes and chemistry. People with bipolar must take their medications as instructed by their doctor! I find many people with bipolar decide to go on and off their medication because they feel taking medications interferes with their social lives such as drinking or taking Marijuana (not accusing you here.) Some people on these medications feel they are odd balls, crazy people and therefore if they don't take the medications they feel like they are normal like everyone else. There is no such thing as 'normal!' Everyone has to deal with some depression or other diseases during their lifetime. Some other people that are on medications for bipolar may have side effects they don't like from this medication and they must work with their doctor closely! Sometimes the doctor may have to give a patient a 'cocktail' meaning more than one medication and a mixture that suits that particular individual. People with bipolar that don't take their medications correctly or don't have the right medications can become moody, argumentative and sometimes appear to have two personalities. For the partner of the bipolar they are literally walking on egg shells. Now you can take or leave my advice, but if you don't do something quickly you could well lose your boyfriend. He sounds like a nice guy because he obviously has 'staying power' or he wouldn't be with you this long. You should tell your boyfriend everything about bi polar and if he cant except u then leave .
