To stop recording a show on Dish DVR, you have to go to "Dish on Demand," and select the gray button three times until you see "Timers." Click that to see the shows that are set to record. Scroll until you find the one you wish to stop, select it, and select "Delete" from that menu.

Yes. It's known as a dual DVR. Mine's a Dish Network unit and DirecTV has 'em too, but you have to be a subscriber and have ordered the dual receiver/recording unit. Other than that, I'm not sure that there are any others on the market.

This may sound crazy, but change the batteries in your remote control for the DVR. When the batteries get weak, they tend to throw off random signals which can cause this to happen.

No, I do not think so. We have a DVR, and when we record shows onto a VCR tape, the show being taped must be playing. My only suggestion would be to hook the recording device to another TV.
