I wish I were a bit more awake and alert to discuss this issue, however I feel compelled to day something. You should realize that all of us are human and have our own human frailties, short-comings, weaknesses and lack; and yes at times we make mistakes. OK, so you may have done something you shouldn't have, or maybe did not do something you should have, which led to a negative event. So, you own up to it, you apologize, and if possible attempt to rectify the issue. After that it's over, you cut the rope and let it slide. Nothing is going to bring it back, thus it's time to move on. You may have learned a lesson from this which will hopefully prevent another occurrence of the same event. Now, the mere fact that you are feeling guilty, indicates you are an individual who really cares about what has happened, and you evidently feel remorse and regret. That's all you can do! If you continually feel guilty, it's only because you are letting it happen. Someone may be attempting to promote it, but you are the one who is accepting it. There comes a time when you have to realize who you are as a person and say "I have done all I can do and enough is enough!" Now, drop the guilt and go on with your life with a positive outlook. It's healthier that way. If you keep harboring the guilt it will wear you out. Best wishes!!
